Linnea and James’ Wedding at Boone Hall Plantation in Charleston, SC

A few months ago I posted an engagement session (click to see) and talked about about James and Linnea’s wedding at Boone Hall.  This wedding was everything I hoped it would be.  There was a threat the wedding would have to be moved because of the huge hurricane that came through, and when they decided to keep it at Boone Hall, I feared that it would be raining all day long.  Strangely enough, there wasn’t a drop of rain, and it wasn’t even too windy!  I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day!

This was a perfect Charleston wedding.  Everything about it felt southern elegant, from the setting (a plantation that was primarily for growing cotton) to the food (shrimp and grits and cheese biscuits).  The dock where the ceremony took place is called the “cotton dock” because it is where they loaded the cotton onto boats to take it to Charleston.  I LOVE the details for the guys (the boutineers made of cotton and James wore a cotton patterned bow-tie!) and the colors and clothing for the entire bridal party fit the setting perfectly.

All of the planning was perfect (thanks so much to Bree with BCS Weddings and Events) and the South Carolina Wedding Co did an AWESOME job setting up the venue.

I can only put so many photos up on my blog because I don’t want you to have to scroll forever and ever to look through them, but I put even more of my favorites up on Facebook.  Just go to my page (click here), click “like” if you haven’t already and look for the photo album “James and Linnea’s Wedding.”

We started off at the Heads You Win Salon in Charleston while the girls got all prettied up for the day.  Stephanie Curtiss did an awesome job with Linnea and I’d highly recommend her if you are looking for a stylist in Charleston SC.  Cucumbers are great for the eyes… at least that’s what “they” say.

Mascara pictures are always awkward, but Linnea looks like something straight out of Hollywood if you ask me…

Speaking of straight out of Hollywood…

I always love the special moments of the mother helping the bride get ready.  So much love and experience in those hands.

Parasols are always fun… and these girls had a blast using them as props.  Girls just try it… you automatically feel more “modelish” with a parasol.

The guys looking like high rollers… as if they owned the plantation lol;)

The bouquet was awesome, and the cotton pods are some of the coolest boutineers I’ve ever seen!

I love how the blues, yellows, greens and browns were tied in EVERYwhere.

No AC on this hot August day, but these misting fans were pretty cool!

Isn’t this an awesome way to set up the cake?

Brides always want to see the grooms reaction as he first sees her, but I always love it when other people react too!  This guy thought Linnea was an ACTUAL princess!

Linnea said someone gave her the advice to make sure she took time to look out at who was there.  I like that advice, because it is so easy to get so caught up in being there that you forget everything else.  Taking time to look around helps you remember what the day was like.   Of course, photos help with that too!

Right before the kiss, the wind blew the veil right in front of their faces.  Some photographers would be frustrated, but I love it!  Its a perfect moment and they even got some privacy!

The reception was a blast and everybody had a great time.  They had the Carolina Breakers as live entertainment, and they kept the party rocking the whole night!

And they lived happily ever after!  I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I did!  Don’t forget to go to Facebook and see even more!
