Josh and Kali’s After Wedding Session

Sometimes at weddings, there just isn’t time to create beautiful portraits of the bride and groom.  Even if the photographer works very quickly, sometimes the weather or the light just wont allow for great portraits.  After all, the wedding day isn’t supposed to be a photo session, it’s about you!  Don’t get me wrong, I want to spend time photographing portraits on the wedding day… but the moment the bride and groom become bored, its time to move on.

For me there are only a few things that are important when it comes to wedding photography.  First, attention to details.  So much planning goes into weddings, and it deserves to be preserved through photographs.  Second, real moments.  I don’t necessarily call it photojournalism, but I want to capture the day as it really happens.  I want to capture moments as you remember them.  Third, relaxed portraits.  I think there need to be portraits made on your wedding day.  You want these portraits to remind you of all the emotions you experienced on your wedding day!  Think about the excitement, nervousness, happiness, and love that will be flowing through your body on your wedding day.  You don’t see that in photos where you stand there, look at the camera and smile.  When you are relaxed, and soaking in your emotions, you wont get bored and stiff… and your photos will be great!

(man… I talk to much in these blog posts…)

ANYWAY…

Josh and Kali got married on a beautiful day, but when there ceremony was over, it was dark outside.  We got great photos of the two of them sharing special moments on their wedding day, but didn’t have time or light to do many portraits.  We decided to have another session after the wedding where we would create some beautiful wedding portraits.  Josh and Kali are very much in love, and they make great subjects!  I hope you’ll enjoy these photos, and don’t forget to check out Josh and Kali’s wedding Photos!
