Jesh and Aimee are Engaged!!!! A Perfect Picnic Proposal!

Man I’m getting old.  Both of my best friends growing up are now engaged!  Everybody is getting married!

I am so excited for Jesh and Aimee.  Jesh and I have known each other since 8th grade, and we’ve been best buds ever since.  I won’t go into the details of our friendship, because it would be really long… and I’ll save it for a toast or something at his wedding;)  The one thing I will mention is I’ve known Jesh through alot… and Aimee DEFINITELY brings out the best in him.  Ever since they’ve started dating he’s been happier than ever.  I’ve always hoped they would get married… and now its official!  Recently Jesh told me he was going to be proposing on Memorial Day and that he was gonna need some help setting it up (he lives in Oklahoma now).  After he carefully planned the details, we spent the day putting it all together when he got into Columbia last week.

For their first date, Jesh and Aimee tried to go horseback riding… but there were some complications at the farm, and things didn’t work out.  Since they both love riding, (not to mention it just screams romantic) Jesh wanted to go back and try that “first date” again.  This time, he set up a perfect breakfast picnic on the trail.  The day was perfect, and everything went perfectly as planned.

Jesh asked Ashley and I to hide out in the woods and take photos of the proposal.  It was such a picture perfect proposal, so it HAD to be captured on camera.  We put on our makeshift camo and found some spots where we weren’t easily seen.  We’ve never done this before, but it turned out to be awesome!  I’m sure Jesh and Aimee will treasure these photos and be able to share them with their family and friends for generations.

Here are a few of my favorites, you can see more on FB by clicking here!

Even though Jesh and Aimee aren’t clients of mine… I’m going to do a challenge for their comments.  If this post receives at least 100 likes and comments, with at least 25 of those being unique comments, I have a special gift for Aimee and Jesh.  So friends and family… help them out and click “like” below and leave some comments!

The whole picnic setup. Picture Perfect!

Here’s a photo of all the men setting up the not so manly picnic. BTW… thanks so much to Michael and Robin for helping with the plan!

Ashley made the wildflower bouquet and loaned her boots to the setup;)  I think they were a nice touch.

Cinnamon buns, oranges and mimosas, what a good combination!

Not to mention the cheese and berries.  Sounds like a breakfast I could get used to.

Ashley and I hid in the trees where we weren’t obviously visible.

Jesh and Aimee arriving on horseback to the picnic.

Jesh prepared a letter for Aimee and read it to her.

Ashley had great timing on this shot… its like you can read his lips.  “Will you Marry Me?”

She said yes.  He became the happiest guy ever.

Hugs and tears of joy.

Trying on the ring… hey at least it fit on her pinky…;)

Enjoying their picnic as an engaged couple!

Jesh has a severe case of PKS.  Proposal Knee Syndrome.  lol.

We’re doing an actual engagement session before Jesh is off to Ranger school, so be looking for those photos soon as well!

Lois Bratkovich - This is so precious – just what an Aunt would say! His dad is my brother and this is so much like his daddy – always surprising his wife with something special. I don’t know Aimee, but she certainly found knight in shining armour. Can’t wait to go to the wedding!

Betsey Kodat - As the mother-in-law-to-be, I am ecstatic. What a wonderful way to feel like I was there–to see these photos. You captured everything, the artsy table in the woods, the ring in Jesh’s pocket, the dirt on his knee after proposing; Aimee’s joy and tears, the ring on her finger. I think even Aimee’s horse was part of the act. How on earth did you get the her to lick Aimee’s hand?
